I'm Emily McLeod

The creator behind Yogalini

I began my yoga journey three years ago, never realizing just how deeply it would transform my life. Yoga has helped me reconnect with myself, slow down, find more balance, and create a deeper sense of connection within. Over time, that transformation inspired me to become a teacher—not because I have all the answers, but because I want to share the same sense of healing, connection, and self-discovery that yoga has given me. My heart truly belongs to Kundalini yoga, but I also love the grounding stillness of Yin and the release of Deep Stretch. My goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and encouraged to simply come as they are. When I’m not teaching or practicing, I’m usually at home with my husband, John, and our cat, Maverick, who is very much in charge of the household.

Yoga, to me, is so much more than the physical practice—it’s a way of coming home to myself. It has taught me how to slow down, listen inward, breathe through difficult moments, and create space for the parts of myself that need compassion and care. Because of how deeply yoga has transformed my own life, being trauma-informed is incredibly important to me. I believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and empowered in their practice, without ever feeling pressured to move, feel, or experience yoga a certain way. A trauma-informed approach allows me to create a space where students can honor their own boundaries, trust their intuition, and know that they are always in control of their experience. My hope is that every person who steps onto my mat feels seen, supported, and reminded that yoga is not about changing who you are—it’s about reconnecting with who you’ve always been.

I chose the name Yogalini because it brings together two things that have become such a meaningful part of my life: my love for yoga as a whole and my deep connection to the practice of Kundalini. Kundalini was the style that first captured my heart and helped me experience yoga in a way that felt deeply personal and transformative, but I’ve also come to love the beauty of so many other practices. To me, Yogalini represents that full picture—the energy, connection, movement, stillness, and self-discovery that yoga offers. It’s a name that feels like a reflection of my own journey and my love for sharing this practice with others.
